Both my nan and my brother passed away from cancer. They both struggled with alcohol, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve often wished I had been at an age where I could truly understand the impact alcohol can have on the body and maybe have had those conversations with them sooner.
This Dry July is personal for me. It’s not only about raising money for cancer support, but also about raising awareness, creating healthier futures, and breaking cycles for the generations that come after us.
For me, this fundraiser is a way of turning pain into purpose choosing healing, hope, and honesty in honour of the people I love. Every conversation, donation, and day without alcohol represents the possibility of change.
