Last year, Richie did Dry July. This year it’s my turn.
In true Richie fashion, it wasn’t enough just to give up alcohol. He turned it into a mission. Every day he’d proudly check the fundraising leaderboard to make sure he was still near the top. An overachiever in the very best way.
We never thought that a year later we wouldn’t be doing it together.
Watching someone you love navigate cancer changes you. You see the reality of the appointments, treatments, uncertainty, hope and heartbreak. But you also see the incredible people who step in to help carry the load.
Throughout our journey, we were surrounded by extraordinary support. From doctors and nurses to support groups, family, friends && complete strangers who showed up when we needed them most.
Cancer took someone who meant the world to me, but it also showed me just how powerful compassion and community can be.
This one is for Richie, my best friend, my greatest love, and someone who brought so much light to the lives of those around him. 🤍
