If you know us, you'll know that a month without a drink is no small feat.

We're Emily and Sam — usually the first ones on the dance floor, always up for a drink, and definitely not known for turning down a night out. But this July, we're swapping happy hour for Dry July and raising money for a cause that's incredibly close to our hearts.

We're doing this in support of my brother, who is currently battling stage 4 melanoma. Watching someone you love go through cancer changes your perspective and reminds you what really matters. While giving up alcohol for a month will be a challenge for us, it's nothing compared to the challenges faced by cancer patients and their families every day.

We're hoping to turn our very sober July into something meaningful by raising funds to support people affected by cancer and the services that help them through some of the toughest times of their lives.
