We’re wrapping up Dry July 2025 with a big round of applause - not just for our incredible prize winners, but for every single person who donated, entered, and supported this year’s challenge. Thanks to your generosity, together we raised over $775,000 to provide comfort, care, and support for New Zealanders affected by cancer. Whether you gave a dollar, shared the challenge with your mates, donated a prize, or cheered someone on – you’ve helped make a difference.

“I was diagnosed with Leukemia on the 13th of March 2024 and underwent 9 months of Chemotherapy, Chemo Drugs, Blood Transfusions, Platelet Transfusions and more. Unfortunately due to having cancer, I am no longer eligible to give blood so raising money and awareness is the next best thing … This (prize) is the first amazing thing that has happened to me since I got over my cancer!” - Briar Mangino

Registrations for 2025 are now open

Every 22 minutes, another New Zealander hears the devastating news they have cancer. In July alone, more than 2,200 Kiwis will be diagnosed.

That’s why we Dry July.

Your mum, dad, sister, friend, colleague, aunty, uncle – every New Zealander knows someone affected by cancer. This year, we’re asking you to show up for them and go alcohol-free for 31 days this July to raise money for life-changing cancer care across New Zealand.

“The emotional and mental toll of cancer often goes unseen, despite most New Zealanders being directly or indirectly impacted,” says Veronica Shale, Dry July NZ Campaign Director. “That’s why it’s important we show up, not just in words, but in action.”
