I’m doing Dry July in honour of my beautiful parents and the many darling members of our family we've lost to cancer. I know I’m not alone. Everyone knows someone affected by this disease, and I want to use this month to show up in their memory.

How lucky are we to wake up each day and have our health? To move our bodies and make better choices when others don’t get that same start. That’s not lost on me.

I’m also doing this for the challenge. As a self-proclaimed socialite who never slows down and loves a cheeky marg, I’ve always written Dry July off with the excuse of “but it’s my birthday!” Honestly, what a crap excuse.

This year, I’m showing up for something bigger than that. For the people we’ve lost. For the people still fighting. And for myself, because I know I can.
