Go Dry this July to support Bowel Cancer NZ

Bowel Cancer New Zealand is a nationwide, patient-focused charity dedicated to beating bowel cancer through life-saving awareness, education, advocacy, research and support.

Their goal is to reduce the impact of bowel cancer on New Zealanders and communities, and to provide support for patients and whānau going through bowel cancer.

Money raised through Dry July will assist in the continued funding of a specialist nurse to provide information and support to those affected by bowel cancer. The Bowel Cancer NZ nurse also facilitates free physio rehabilitation and counselling sessions for patients undergoing bowel cancer treatment.

“I signed up to Bowel Cancer NZ’s online support group. I found it to be an incredible resource and I could ask any questions I needed to. People went out of their way to answer my queries and support me – I really appreciated that.”

Important Note

Dry July is a fundraising campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthy lifestyle changes. We would encourage people to drink responsibly and stick to the recommended daily guidelines for the rest of the year. We advise heavy drinkers or people dependent on alcohol to speak with their GP before signing up to Dry July.
